CWCB North Fork
7/5/2005
Page 3

4. Perform preliminary analyses of water availability in the reaches affected by the
CWCB ISF filings. Existing CDSS models will be used for the analyses. Compare the
preliminary estimate of depletions from ponds, springs, and wells with the estimate of
available flow. This cursory look at existing depletions and available flow is to provide
the Board with a better understanding of the extent of potential impacts to current and
future uses.

Completion:
Assignment:

June 10
CWCB (LRE)

STATUS: Complete. It was determined that the proposed ISF filings would
appropriate all available flows during the late irrigation season, but that there
would be available flows for future appropriations during average to wet runoff
months.

5. Review by CWCB Board at July meeting of level of progress and set hearing date and
appointment of hearing officer

Completion:
Assignment:

July Board meeting
CWCB

STATUS: Board item for July meeting

. Phase 2 Detailed Analysis of Existing Depletions and Future Water Needs and Filing of
Water Rights Applications

6. Document existing uses in the reaches affected by the ISF filings including decreed
uses and undecreed existing uses. The Division 4 Engineer's Office and Water
Commissioners will provide input on the number of existing water rights and
estimated current consumptive use on an HUC basis. They will lead the effort to
identify those areas that don't have augmentation plans and are junior to the Short
Ditch. Estimates will be made of existing depletions, both decreed and undecreed.

Completion:
Assignment:

August 1
Division 4 Engineer's Office

STATUS: CDM performed additional sub-basin delineation beyond the HUC
watersheds as requested by Division Engineer. Division Engineer has provided
estimates, by sub-basin of estimated existing water uses, both decreed and
undecreed, in the North Fork of the Gunnison River basin that are in need of
augmentation water. The estimated existing water uses do not include irrigation
rights, only springs and ponds used for domestic, stock and evaporation uses.

S :\GI S\working\Jinal_ memo\CW CB _ N _Fork070505.doc
