I

1

IVV.I..

MR. SPARKS:

"1 have nothing more to say about them
since the resolutions are self-explanatory.
The proponents for these I believe are here.
Is there somebody here from the Denver Regional
Council of Governments?"

MR. WALKER:

"My name is W. J. Walker from the Denver
Regional council of Governments. 1 would like
to make a brief announcement in connection
with the metropolitan areas of the flood plain
information program. Up until now, as you
know, the cross-sections for these are done
locally and this information is sent to the
Corps of Engineers who prepare the report.
The Denver Regional Council of Governments
has in the past contracted out to local engi-
neers to perform these surveys. We have
transferred this program to the Urban Drainage
and Flood Control District starting with the
next series of streams that need to be sur-
veyed. So this will be our next to last report
done through the Denver Regional council of
Governments.

Volume VI, which is the next one due,
covering streams in southern Jefferson County
will be done under our auspices. Following
that all of the reports, the local share, will
be funded through the Urban Drainage and Flood
Control District.

Thank you."

MR. SPARKS:

"Mr. Walker, is the Denver Regional
Council of Governments requesting that this
Board designate this area as a flood plain?"

MR. WALKER:

"Yes, sir. As in our letter to you, we
are requesting designation and approval of
Volume V which consists of six streams in
Jefferson county. We are asking, as in the
previous four volumes, that this Board take
the appropriate action so that these local
zoning and regulations can proceed."
