I

I

planning should be done along the Front Range,
planning in connection with the use of land
and development of communities. Such planning
appears to be most desirable. However, those
of us in the water field don't believe that
water resource projects are the vehicle to carry
such planning.

One other question I have, Mr. Ogilvie,
is in connection with Mt. Carbon Reservoir on
Bear Creek.' The Board will recall that Mr.
Ogilvie mentioned that the Denver Water Board
was acquiring or had acquired rights on Bear
Creek. The Mt. Carbon project on Bear Creek
was authorized about three years ago as a flood
control project. Planning is well advanced on
that project now. Carbon Reservoir. A relatively small
amount, I think it was 4,000 feet or so."

MR. OGU,vIE:

"It was actually a bit more than that. t'le
set a figure of about 9,000 for Denver, but
this is subject to evaluation."

MJ\. SPAJU(S:

"The Water Board has asked that this
matte~ be evaluated as to cost.

Such capacity could be included
Carbon. Where possible, it has been
of this Board that multi-purposes be
in the construction of any project.

in Mt.
the policy
achieved
tole have a
