O::;l~"t

,

here to Oak Ridge, this is the upper end of
Oak Ridge, into the Little Beaver Basin. We
will meet that requirement. We do have about
1.4 miles of crossing structures built into
the design of the canal already and we will
add additional crossings and fencing as recom-
mended by the Game, Fish and Parks Commission
in our plan.

I

This list of structures along the Yellow
Jacket Canal indicates all of the structures
that will be buried type such as siphons,
buried pipes and bridges and so on that could
be used for crossings. In this upper reach of
the canal we have 1.4 miles of it. Then in
the canal down below Oak Ridge where it comes
around the north side of the Little Beaver
Basin, we have about 2.2 miles of crossing
structures along the canal that can be used
for crossings and additional ones can be added
according to this recommendation.

Also on the Josephine Canal line, which is
another canal line which runs around the east
side of the Little Beaver Basin, it is recom-
mended that we have ten deer crossings at a
cost of about $40,000. We have included that
in our costs for the project and in our plans.
This list shows the crossings that are already
built into our canal lines, 4~ miles of them
along the Josephine Basin Canal which includes
several long siphons, tunnels and bridges and
this type of thing that are crossing structures.

Item eleven, recommendation eleven, they
ask that we design both the Yellow Jacket Canal
and the Josephine Basin canal so that deer
would not get stuck in the canal: so they
could cross it and safety items so they would
not go into the siphons and so on. We are
building this into it. Here is a typical sec-
tion of our canal. In most cases they will
have a two to one side slope and where it is
going to be lined, we tentatively plan on it
being lined with earth lining so we will not

I
