<br />7 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Evaluation of CWCB Floodplain Mapping and Revisions as Needed <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Present Action: <br /> <br />A cursory review and sketch comparison of the flooded area outline to any existing <br />CWCB designated 100-year flood outline is made, Estimates of flood discharges and <br />floodwater elevations are prepared for some flood disasters. <br /> <br />Present Fundim!: <br /> <br />No mechanism for a formal investigation or assessment is in place, <br /> <br />Proposed Action: <br /> <br />The CWCB, in cooperation with the DNR Division of Purchasing, will develop a <br />standing annual contractual agreement for placing an engineering consulting firm in <br />service on July L Contracted services will include evaluation of the CWCB's designated <br />floodplain studies and revisions to mapping, if necessary. Contracting will be performed <br />by different firms to prevent conflicts of interest. Revisions or new mapping will require <br />1) community agreement to proceed, and 2) a fifty percent (50%) cost share by the <br />affected local govemment(s), Any Notice to Proceed will be under the instruction of the <br />CWCB Director. <br /> <br />Proposed Funding: <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Establish an annual account within the CWCB's five percent (5%) of the construction <br />fund dedicated to flood projects, Estimated annual budget: $30,000, <br /> <br />Benefits: <br /> <br />. Confirmation of precipitation and hydrologic values, <br /> <br />· Verification of hydraulic conditions in a flood and of validity of 100-year flood <br />inundation areas, <br /> <br />· Re-engineering 100-year floodplain limits, if applicable, <br /> <br />· Understanding ofrelative depths of flooding in various parts of the 100-year <br />floodplain to determine areas subject to the greatest damage, <br /> <br />· Confirmation of the most accurate 100-year designated floodplain boundaries. <br /> <br />e <br />
