As you per- <br />haps read in the newspapers, the Senate <br />approved the Appropriations Bill for this <br />fiscal year which included funds for the <br />Curecanti and Florida Projects. I received <br />a wire from Senator Allott as soon as that <br />Bill was approved by the Senate and he in- <br />formed me that the matter would go to a con- <br />ference committee probably today. There <br />were very few differences between the Senate <br />and the House Bill. One of the .major differ- <br />ences, as far as we are concerned, is that <br />the Senate put in an additional $40,000 to <br />expedite the Animas-La Plata studies. We <br />anticipate that the House will go right along <br />with that move by the Senate and that by the <br />end of this week the President will have signed <br />the Appropriations Bill and we can get the <br />Florida and Curecanti Projects under way. As <br />you know, we anticipate that, with this addi- <br />tional $40,000, we can complete the Animas-La <br />Plata feasibility 'report by the end of this <br />fiscal year.
