I

MR. PETERSON:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. PETERSON:

MR. SPARXS:

I

-"-,,...,~

you will recall, was put over from our last
meeting.

The Board, some months ago, was furnished
with a priority list prepared by our staff, in
which we stated that we had no deep feeling
one way or another about the priorities sug-
gested, and that they were listed largely as
a result of the recommendations of the Colo-
rado River Water Conservation District Board."

"Mr. Chairman, may I interrupt at this
point?"

"Go right ahead."

"You mentioned 'priority of feasibility
studies', Did you mean feasibility studies
or priorities of reconnaissance studies?"

"Feasibility. The reconnaissance investi-
gations on all these projects have been com-
pleted, although some of them are out of date.

The last project that we have definitely
scheduled at this time is the Upper Gunnison
River Project which is scheduled for feasi-
bility investigation this coming July, if
Congress appropriates the funds that were re-
quested in the Reclamation budget. After
this coming fiscal year we have nothing defin-
itely programed in the way of feasibility
investigations.

There is nothing that I can add to our
memorandum. You will note that by a supple-
mental memorandum we did recommend that the
Juniper and Great Northern Projects be con-
solidated into a single project investigation.
If you will turn to page 2 in our summary
where the Great Northern project is shown, it
would read Great Northern and Juniper, and we
would probably eventually consolidate this
under the title of the Juniper project. This
would then'eliminate the Juniper Project as
item #5 and would, in effect then, renumber
#6 as #5, so we would actually have five
project priorities.
