I'm sure that we are all aware that since
our last meeting in March, that nearly all the
publicity in the state's papers and on radio
and TV has been about water matters. I was
telling one of our distinguished colleagues
this morning, Senator Johnson, that I thought
the Glen Canyon opening and closing was the
best therapeutic medicine he'd had in a long
while: And I think you agreed with me,
didn't you, Governor?"

"I do. It was good medicine."

"I think we all owe a deep debt of grati-
tude to Senator Johnson, Governor Love and our
Congressional delegation, and Larry Sparks
and the staff of this Board. I know that you
have been as proud as I have been about the
diligent work they have all done and the
results that have been accomplished so far.

Since I think this is probably of the
most interest to members of the Board and
our guests as any matter that has been before
the Board in recent times, I am going to
move, with your permission, Agenda Item #5,
relative to the Colorado River Storage Proj-
ect, over to Agenda Item #2 and we will
discuss that first. Is there any objection
to that procedure? If not, Larry, will you
start out with that? It's Agenda Item #5
in your folders."
