<br />.- <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />UI'I-91-01 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />~ WHEREAS, a committee has been fo~med consisting of ~ep~esentation <br />""f~om the Battlement Mesa Wate~ Conse~vancy Dist~ict, the West Divide <br />Wate~ Conse~vancy Dist~ic~, the Ute Wate~ Conse~vancy Dist~ict and the <br />G~and Junction Office of the Colo~ado Wate~ Conse~vation Boa~d, to <br />explo~e the benefits of the p~eviously p~oposed Owens C~eek Rese~voi~ <br />on Buzza~d C~eek, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the ute ~ep~esentation to that committee has ~elayed the <br />p~ogress, pur sui ts and objecti ves of the commi t tee to thi s Board, <br />indicating some apparent tangible and intangible benefits of the <br />project to Western Colorado, the Grand Valley of Mesa County, the utG <br />Water Conservancy District and the public we serve, and <br /> <br />WllERE.\S, the committee has apparently reached a point in its <br />investigation that requires objective and credible outside <br />confirmation of its conclusions and assumptions, and such a confi~ming <br />"Report" may require the expenditure of funds not currently available <br />to the committee, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the committee has indicated its intention to seek equal <br />committwents of $1,000.00 from each of the participating conservancy <br />districts and larger, but unequal, committments from other water <br />resource and development agencies in order to generate this <br />confirmation report, <br /> <br />~ NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the <br />""ULe Water Conservancy District that, in the interest of new water <br />Jcvelopment projects with apparent multiple benefits to a large <br />popula tion of Western Colorado, the Distr ict does hereby will ing I y <br />commit the sum of $1,OOO.OO to the committees' Objective.
