Mr. Frank Akers
August 2, 1991
Page Two

.

The committee has made a formal request to the Colorado River
Water Conservation Board for a budgeted committment of $5,000 and it
is intended that this letter serve as formal request to the Colorado
Water Conservation Board, through your endorsement and presentation,
for a budgeted commi ttment of $8,000 toward the financing of the
project re-evaluation.

These monies, plus the cumulative value of in-kind time
contributions of the committee, are expected to amount to half or even
a little more than half of the estimated total cost of $60,000 for
Phase I and Phase II of the enclosed Scope of Work. This type of
ccntributicn and committment will en~~nce the cha~=cs of the
investigation's acceptance into the Bureau of Reclamations' Technical
Assistance Program. It would further enhance the chances of
acceptance if the CWCB would endorse the project and issue a request
to the Salt Lake Office of the Bureau to budget $30,000 in matching
funds for their Grand Junction office.

The committee would be very grateful for your assistance in this
objective and would be more than happy to address any questions or
reservations you may have.

Respectfully and Appreciatively
For the Ute Water Conservancy District and
The Public We Serve,

e

C~dkL~

C. E. Stockton, Assistant Manager
Ute Water Conservancy District

CES/rlc

Enclosure

xc: The Owens Creek Reservoir Committee

.
