Inmate labor
is used to operate the unit which currently produces about 15,400 pounds of trout per
year. Preliminary analyses indicate that trout production could be expanded to a
rnaximum of 221,000 pounds per year. Such an expansion will require a near
continuous flow of 12.5 cfs on a year-round basis. The Division is exploring
alternatives for providing the water in part from Cottonwood Creek. Since the Board
holds an iustrearn flow water right on Cottonwood Creek for 20 cfs which could be
affected by such a developrnent, the Division has requested an opportunity to brief the
Board on its plan at the Board's September 1991 meeting.

DCMj gl

g10101.agi
