the South Platte Steering Committee', and

place on the South Platte Steering Committee,
submitted a written report Which is in your
folders. unfortunately Gil is sick today and
is not here. Would you like to have that read,
Ben, or how do you want to handle it?"

"'The South Platte Steering Committee held
its second meeting on October 6, 1961. At this
meeting a site selection report was submitted
to the committee by the Bureau of Reclamation.
This report presented comparative evaluations
of alternate main stem reservoirs at the Weld
County and Narrows sites.

Construction costs, without control of
Bijou Creek floods, would be about $7,000,000
higher for the Weld County site than for the
Narrows site. With Bijou control included, the
costs of the Weld County site in conjunction with
a reservoir at the Wiggins site on Bijou Creek
would be more than $ll,OOO,OOO higher than those
for the Narrows site including the Bijou dykes
and channel. These costs are based on recon-
naissance or preliminary estimates.
