I

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. DAVIS:

I

scheduled a priority for the Cherry Creek study.
It is in priority 2. Sand Creek, main stem,
Clear Creek and Bear Creek are priority 1. We
have acquired considerable cross section data,
recent data, on Cherry Creek below the dam. We
have already cataloged that into our IBM program
and, depending on getting a little additional
cross section such as from the upper stream
into Denver to Cherry Creek Dam itself, we are
ready to complete our studies."

"Are there any further comments from any
members of the Board on this agenda item? If
not, we will pass then to 'Reports of Federal
Agencies' and I'd like to call first on Region
7, Harold Davis. Will you give us your report,
please?"

"Mr. Chairman, gentlemen, I believe you were
informed last time that Joe Barrett was taking
a position with United Nations in Bangkok,
Thailand. He left on October 27. I have been
on Jim Knights staff in the region and have
been designated to act temporarily as head of
the Denver Development Office until a permanent
selection is made. I have filed a written re-
port with you. Our area responsibility is
essentially all of the eastern slope of the
State of Colorado, starting in the south and
working north.

We deal first with the Trinidad Project.
OUr water supply studies are completed. They
have been reviewed by our Chief Engineer's
office and, I think, by the staff of your Board.
The conservancy district now is studying those
water supply studies. I understand the district
is negotiating a contract with the Model system
for transfer of storage rights to Trinidad Dam
and Reservoir. The Corps of Engineers expects
now to complete its final designs and cost esti-
mates about the end of this year at which time
we will collaborate with them on cost alloca-
tion studies which is a requisite to repayment
analysis and negotiation of repayment contract
for the irrigation function.
