I

I

MR. STAPLETON,

MR. CRANDALL,

Ml\. STAPLETOlh

starting out with a reconnaissance investiga-
tion. These pictures illustrate some of the
facilities on Uncompahgre now. We will start
in fiscal '71 and then if we can identify a
development plan that we could go forward with
we will convert that into a feasibility study
and it will ha.ve a projected water supply im-
provement as suggested on page 17. The terminal
storage is a tremendous sight which is illus-
trated here and will be a part of the considera-
tion. Out of it hopefully will come a project
that is more suited to modern needs.

The Uncompahgre Project problems are not
confined to just the distribution system you
have been looking at. The old Gunnison Tunnel
needs attention and improvement and the water
users have proposed and we now have before the
Congress a second rehabilitation and betterment
increment for the relining of the Gunnison
Tunnel. Here you can see some of Harold
Anderson's efforts and he is doing a great job
of extending this lining on this most important
feature.

Board members and gentlemen this consti-
tutes perhaps a too long, thumbnail sketch of
reclamation activities in Region 4."

"Thank you very much, Dave, for a very
interesting presentation. It made me want to,
and I know there are others who would like to,
get out and see it first hand again.

Are there any questions from members of
the Board of Mr. Crandall? Do any members of
our audience have any questions? Thanks very
much, Dave, we appreciate it."

"You are entirely welcome."

"We will nO\~ turn to #4 on your agenda,
the 'Flood Plain Zoning Request - Boulder
Creek and South Boulder Creek'. Larry, will
you give us the background on that?"
