Project Type: Structure Rehabilitation <br /> <br />eThe Larimer and Weld Irrigation Company operates a 40-mile system of supply ditch, including control structures, <br />checks, and headgates. This project is to rehabilitate 10 existing check structures, construct one new check <br />structure on the Larimer and Weld Ditch, and to refinance the cost of 3 check structures constructed in 2002 along <br />the ditch. The new check structures will consist of Obermeyer pneumatically operated gates to automatically <br />check and control the ditch. The gates are opened and closed by a 12-volt DC power air pump that inflates a <br />durable rubber bladder on the downstream side of the gate to raise and lower the gate. Smith Geotechnical has <br />completed the final design plans and the project has been awarded to Kiefer Concrete, Inc., and Barker <br />Construction, Inc., both from Fort Collins, Colorado. The Contractor has completed 4 check structures along the <br />ditch and is scheduled to complete the remaining structures after irrigation season. <br /> <br />21. Dolores Water Conservancv District - WETP ACK <br />Authorization: SB 01-157 County: Montezuma <br />Water Source: Dolores River Project Yield: 7,840 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $7,260,000 @3.50% for 30-years Project Type: Distribution System <br /> <br />The District's WETP ACK ( Water for Everyone's Tomorrow Package) proposal is intended to better manage the <br />available resources of the Dolores Project to provide an additional 3,300 acre-feet of water for the fishery below <br />McPhee Dam, increase municipal water supplies, and to provide water of the irrigation of additional lands. This <br />project involves a system of pipelines, pumps, and related facilities to deliver water to the District's Dove Creek <br />Canal system for the irrigation of 4,000 acres of new lands that are presently dry land farmed. Water will be <br />delivered to irrigators in pipes under pressure for sprinkler irrigation only. Harris Water Engineers, of Durango, <br />Colorado, is the planning and design consultant for the project. Construction is tentatively scheduled to <br />commence in the fall of2003. <br /> <br />.22. Kern Reservoir and Ditch Comoanv - Kern Reservoir Rehabilitation Proiect <br />Authorization: Small Project Loan Account County: Weld <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre Project Yield: 2,600 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $3,200,000 @5.10% for 30-years Project Type: Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This $5,100,000 project involves dredging Kerns Reservoir to establish additional capacity. Kern's Reservoir is <br />located within the Town of Windsor and has been in use for over 100-years. Over the years the reservoir has <br />silted in to a capacity of!, I 00 acre-feet. The Company is in the process of dredging the existing reservoir site to <br />achieve and additional 700 acre-feet in capacity. Tarco Construction was awarded the project with on-site project <br />management being conducted by Hall-Irwin Construction. Dredging operations commenced in October of 2002 <br />and are complete. The reservoir is currently flow and operating. Substantial completion is scheduled for October <br />of2003. <br /> <br />23. Low Line Ditch Comoanv - Augmentation Proiect <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: South Platte River <br />Terms of Loan: $94,500 @2.75%for30-years <br /> <br />County: Logan <br />Project Yield: 6,650 acre-feet <br />Project Type: AugmentationlDiversion <br /> <br />The Low Line Ditch Company operates the Lowline Ditch for delivery of irrigation water within a 2,070-acre service <br />area. The headgate for the ditch is located in Logan County, at the Town of Sterling. This project includes <br />construction of 4 augmentation ponds and drilling one augmentation well to generate augmentation credits to cover <br />depletions for 13 irrigation wells used by stockholders of the Company. Additionally the Ditch Company is <br />rehabilitating their diversion structure on the South Platte to include new gates, walk platform, and concrete <br />_diversion walls. Brent Nation, Nation Engineering Services is the design engineer. Currently both projects are <br />omplete and are scheduled for substantial completion in October of2003. <br />
