Given the low production of the existing weill this project will add 2 new wells with 8,300 linear <br />feet of ductile iron transmission lines to the town's existing system. Stromberger Land and Cattle Comoanv LLC - Augmentation Recharge <br />Authorization: CountY: Montezuma <br />Water Source: West Mancos River Project Yield: 9,000 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $5,486,531 @2.80% for 30-years Project Type: Canal Rehabilitation <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Stromberger Land and Cattle Company operates a family r~nch located 15 miles south of Sterling, Colorado. <br />The ranch currently operates 12 wells that are augmented under ~e Groundwater Appropriators ofthe South Platte <br />(GASP). GASP operates on a year-to-year basis with no guar~tee of continued coverage. The current drought <br />conditions have brought to the foreground the difficulty of pro~ding augmentation for well users. The <br />Stromberger's project will provide its own augmentation water t\J protect itself against possible curtailment by <br />GASP. Construction activities include drilling 6 wells to pump water to a series of constructed recharge ponds in <br />the winter months. The project has commenced construction arid is anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2003. <br /> <br />19. Consolidated Home Suoplv Ditch and Reservoir Company i <br />Authorization: Small Project Loan Account Count)i: Larimer <br />Water Source: Big Thompson River Project Yield: 23,631 acre-feet <br />Terms of Loan: $943,00@3.50% for 30-years Project Type: QamRehabilitation <br /> <br />This $1,100,000 project involves the rehabilitation of Mariano Qam, a Class I facility that was constructed in 1889, <br />with a storage capacity of approximately 5,600 acre-feet. A slide occurred along the downstream slope ofthe <br />reservoir in June of 200 I restricting it from use. Reconstruction of the entire dam was not selected given the time <br />frame to construct the improvements and the overall cost. The ~elected improvements involve the construction of a <br />toe drain, toe berm, outlet modifications, foundation grouting, at).d other miscellaneous items. Rocky Mountain <br />Consultant, Longmont, Colorado, has completed the design and the project was awarded to Zak Dirt, Longmont, <br />Colorado in November of 2002.
