I

MR. STAPLETON:

1

MR. GEISSINGER,

0-'11

Larry, I know when I talked to you last
April, you told me at that time when I asked
if there was any legislation available, you
told me you didn't have anything in the way
of specific legislation and you have done
that here in your report today. But believe you
me, I would appreciate suggestions from anybody
to improve this legislation because you can
always improve.

I'd like to have all of the Board mem-
bers particularly get a package of these
engineering reports to take along with you
so that you can give it consideration. It
is simple to read. You'll recognize their
recommendations and you'll recognize them in
these bills.

That's all I have to say, Mr. Chairman."

"Thank you, Jimmy.

I think we have a problem here in terms
of time. I notice, Larry, from your report
that you are suggesting a meeting on Wednes-
day, February 5, at which time we will be
discussing this thing in final form. I have
a feeling personally that we are two or
three months behind. I would have much pre-
ferred to have had this meeting in October
or November. Unless we come up with a uni-
fied front of water users and this Board and
engineers and lawyers, we are going to get
into another big rhubarb and we are going to
have nothing but unsatisfactory legislation
at the end of the session.

I notice, Jimmy, that you have met with
the legislative committee on, I think you
said, four occasions. As I recall, every
member of the Senate is a member of the Water
Committee. Is that right?"

"I don't believe that is true at this
time."
