<br />OBJE:::7IvtS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Objective5 of the a~icultural water conservation prograc are to: <br /> <br />1. work with the University of California Cooperative Extension Service, the <br />United States Depart~ent of ~iculture, and other public and private <br />entities to ca~y out voluntary. cost-effective irrigation management <br />programs which primarily result in substantial water supply savings, or <br />help solve local irrigation water management probl~; <br /> <br />2. transfer technology from the scientific community to agricultural water <br />users and those who influenoe &gricultural water use, on how to use water <br />(and the energy needed to ap?ly it) more efficiently; <br /> <br />3. develop cooperative working relationships with looal water purveyors so <br />that State level programs are useful locally; <br /> <br />4. cooperate in the conduct of research to evaluate quantities of conservable <br />water through iJIIproved irrigation management and the use of different <br />varieties of crops and plants; and <br /> <br />5. educate students, water users, and those who influence water use L~ methods <br />of efficient use of water. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'145 <br />
