Formation of Water Districts <br /> <br />Mr. Crawford told the Board that he had received a <br />petition from the Squirrel Creek-Ellicott Water Association <br />which requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board, <br />pursuant to Chapter 147, Article 18, Section 14, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1953, (Session Laws 1953, page 652), "to <br />determine the boundaries of the Ellicott underground <br />water basin and the underg~ound water district therefor." <br /> <br />MR. CRAWFORD: "This is the first time that the Board, <br />acting under this statute, has been <br />requested to assist in the formation of <br />a ground water district and to determine <br />the boundaries of that district. On <br />several occasions the Board has been <br />approached and has informed interested <br />parties that money was not appropriated <br />for this purpose. It seems, at the <br />present time, that there will be some <br />money available in the Well Drillers' <br />Fund after next July 1 which, under <br />Section 14 of this Act, might be used <br />to do this technical work. The question <br />before us, as I see it, is whether or not <br />the attorneys will advise the Board at <br />this time that the way is clear to embark <br />on this new line of work." <br /> <br />~ffi. CHILSON: "Mr..Shulenburg, is the purpose of the district <br />to obtain some form of regulation?" <br /> <br />MR. SHULENBURG: "Yes." <br /> <br />MR.
