'"
'0;4:0"

Mr. Jacobson stated that one of their problems was in
setting up investigation schedules which have to clear through
their department and have money allocated for such an investi-
gation. He. said he would check on the schedules.

MR. . PETERSON:

I

"So far as the local people are concerned,
they would like to see the projects I
mentioned investigated prior to Bostwick."

Mr. Meek called attention to the Fruitland Mesa Project
and Mr. Crawford stated that investigation of that project
had been started.

4. Cooperation with Bureau of Reclamation on Project Studies

MR. CRAWFORD:

"Mr. Peterson has spoken about the desirability
of having some of these studies made as
expeditiously as possible. With that in mind
during the past month I have been thinking
about the desirability of approaching the
Legislature and asking for funds with which
to cooperate with the Bureau of Reclamation
on this subject. It is my suggestion that
we approach the Legislature for something
in the neighborhood of $100,000 to hurry
up these studies."

Mr, Crawford then called attention to several projects on
which the Board could cooperate with the Bureau of Reclamation
and thus speeding up the investigation.of such projects.

"I want to ask that the Board authorize the
Director to add to the budget, in a separate
bill, a request for $100,000 for studies' in
cooperation with the U. S. Bureau of
Reclamation and for the study of possible
small projects which might qualify under the
Small Projects Bills now before Congress."

Discussion of the amount of money the Board should request I
followed.

MR. CRAWFORD:
