calling this the 'Ideal Demand and Storage
Evaluation' as reported previously. This
evaluation has been completed at the existing
level, which is now, and at the 1990 level.
The final studies for site selection are now
being evaluated and we have turned over to
your engineers some of our work. There are
three items: the effect of the Colorado-Big
Thompson on the flows of the river, the effect
of municipal water use, and the completed sec-
tional river gains.

We have started some miscellaneous studies
to determine the feasibility of lining parts
of the Riverside and Bijou Canals to save
water.

On the Cache la poudre Unit we have com-
pleted the reconnaissance report and forwarded
it to our Regional office for review. This
report indicates that feasibility studies of
the unit are justified and we will continue
on them.

I think that as far as the next Steering
Committee meeting goes, on the Narrows, per-
haps the Bureau could be ready in January but
I don't know how long Mr. Gildersleeve wants
to study it so his estimate is prObably better
than mine."

questions on Region 7's report?"

"I have one question, Mr. Stapleton. ~.lith
reference to the studies going on as to the
feasibility of routing some of the Homestake
Project water through the Fryingpan-Arkansas
powerplants, this will in no way change the
total amount of water planned to be diverted
through the initial Fryingpan-Arkansas plans,
does it?"

"No, it would in no way change anything
diverted through the Continental Divide either
on the Homestake Project or the Fryingpan-
