On the Trinidad Project, the water users
of the area suggested several modifications
in our first draft of the operating principles.
We are reviewing these suggested changes to
determine their effect on the water supply and
feasibility of that project.

This is probably the last time that I
will report on the Fryingpan-Arkansas project.
Mr. James Ogilvie has been appointed the Proj-
ect Manager. An office will be established in
Pueblo and recruitment of personnel to staff
the project is under way. The President signed
the Appropriation Bill on October 26th which
included $500,000 for advance planning money
for the project. On the same day a contract
was let for aerial survey of the Ruedi Reser-
voir. The contractor, Consolidated Engineers,
was able to get his pictures before snow cover
occurred in the area. This is quite fortunate.
The weather has been very good. He is now
establishing the horizontal and vertical con-
trol points for this survey of Ruedi Reser-
voir.

We have opened a field office at Basalt.
We have two drills with four crews working
16 hours a day drilling in the reservoir area
and on the dam site. ~vo survey parties have
started in locating the road and doing other
surveys necessary for design data.

We are making hydrology studies to test
the feasibility of routing additional water
through the powerplants from the Homestake
Project. This study was undertaken at the
instigation of the Cities of Aurora and Colo-
rado Springs.

On the Green Mountain afterbay we have
finished the surveys of the damsite. We have
made reconnaissance designs and cost estimates
and operation studies on the hydrology are
under way.

On the Narrows Unit, which we were dis-
cussing earlier, we are studying the best
