<br />On the Trinidad Project, the water users <br />of the area suggested several modifications <br />in our first draft of the operating principles. <br />We are reviewing these suggested changes to <br />determine their effect on the water supply and <br />feasibility of that project. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />This is probably the last time that I <br />will report on the Fryingpan-Arkansas project. <br />Mr. James Ogilvie has been appointed the Proj- <br />ect Manager. An office will be established in <br />Pueblo and recruitment of personnel to staff <br />the project is under way. The President signed <br />the Appropriation Bill on October 26th which <br />included $500,000 for advance planning money <br />for the project. On the same day a contract <br />was let for aerial survey of the Ruedi Reser- <br />voir. The contractor, Consolidated Engineers, <br />was able to get his pictures before snow cover <br />occurred in the area. This is quite fortunate. <br />The weather has been very good. He is now <br />establishing the horizontal and vertical con- <br />trol points for this survey of Ruedi Reser- <br />voir. <br /> <br />We have opened a field office at Basalt. <br />We have two drills with four crews working <br />16 hours a day drilling in the reservoir area <br />and on the dam site. ~vo survey parties have <br />started in locating the road and doing other <br />surveys necessary for design data. <br /> <br />We are making hydrology studies to test <br />the feasibility of routing additional water <br />through the powerplants from the Homestake <br />Project. This study was undertaken at the <br />instigation of the Cities of Aurora and Colo- <br />rado Springs. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On the Green Mountain afterbay we have <br />finished the surveys of the damsite. We have <br />made reconnaissance designs and cost estimates <br />and operation studies on the hydrology are <br />under way. <br /> <br />On the Narrows Unit, which we were dis- <br />cussing earlier, we are studying the best <br />
