If I may take one minute I would like to report
briefly on our general investigations program
in Colorado. If you're interested in a general
run down, I'll take just a moment.

We have a general investigations program
under way. Funds have been allotted for a
comprehensive survey of the Arkansas River
and tributaries above John Martin Dam and
this has been in progress for several years
and probably will be completed next year some-
time.

This year we intend to complete an interim
report on local flood protection at Las Animas.
The report is well advanced and the problem
seems to be quite critical at that particular
point. This is the reason for an interim
report and, as I say, next year we will proba-
bly submit a comprehensive report on flood
control and allied purposes above John Martin
Dam in Colorado. Subsequently we will study
the Arkansas River and tributaries below John
Martin Dam to the Colorado-Kansas line.

I think this is in your folders as Agenda
Item #5. Mr. Moses is, at this very moment,
down at the United States Supreme Court listen-
ing to the California-Arizona arguments. He's
reporting on his activities for the remainder
of the year and I don't think we need to take
any time to discuss that at the meeting unless
you desire.

Mr. Kuiper calls attention to the para-
graph that reads 'l^1hile in I'Jashington on the
Arizona-California matter, the lawyer members
of the Committee of Fourteen on the Mexican
Treaty problem will be briefed by the State
Department and others on the question of the
jurisdiction of the World Court concerning the
controversy, and the expectations of the State
