resolution from this Board, asking that
this project be included in this Bill."

"Would we present it to the Senate or the
House?"

MR. WILLIAMS:

Gav. JOHNSON:

"It would be better if it were presented
in the Senate. I think a resolu~ion by
this Board, plus a resolution by the
New Mexico people, would have a tremendous
effect. "

After discussion the following resolution was adopted by
the Board:

WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Colorado Water
Conservation Board on April 19, 1955, at Denver,
Colorado, the Board found that status report had
been completed by the Bureau of Reclamation on the
Animas-LaPlata Project in Southwestern Colorado; and
,

WHEREAS, it appears to the Board, on the
basis of the report, that the Animas-LaPlata Project
has a very favorable benefit-cost ratio) ; and

WHEREAS, the Board feels that the Animas-
LaPlata Project should be included in the initial
list of those projects which participate in the
Upper Colorado River Storage Project;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED
That the Animas-LaPlata Project be and the same is
hereby approved;

BE IT FURTHER UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED That
this Board urge the Congress of the United States
to include the Animas-LaPlata Project, in the bill
authorizing the Upper Colorado River Storage Project,
as an ihitial participating project.

This resolution was sent to all members of the Colorado
Congressional delegation by night letter on this date,
April 19, 1955.
