WILLIAMS: <br /> <br />Gav. JOHNSON: <br /> <br />"It would be better if it were presented <br />in the Senate. I think a resolu~ion by <br />this Board, plus a resolution by the <br />New Mexico people, would have a tremendous <br />effect. " <br /> <br />After discussion the following resolution was adopted by <br />the Board: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board on April 19, 1955, at Denver, <br />Colorado, the Board found that status report had <br />been completed by the Bureau of Reclamation on the <br />Animas-LaPlata Project in Southwestern Colorado; and <br />, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the Board, on the <br />basis of the report, that the Animas-LaPlata Project <br />has a very favorable benefit-cost ratio) ; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board feels that the Animas- <br />LaPlata Project should be included in the initial <br />list of those projects which participate in the <br />Upper Colorado River Storage Project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED <br />That the Animas-LaPlata Project be and the same is <br />hereby approved; <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED That <br />this Board urge the Congress of the United States <br />to include the Animas-LaPlata Project, in the bill <br />authorizing the Upper Colorado River Storage Project, <br />as an ihitial participating project. <br /> <br />This resolution was sent to all members of the Colorado <br />Congressional delegation by night letter on this date, <br />April 19, 1955. <br />
