CWCB Compact Operations Guide Project <br /> <br />Beneficiary/Grantee/Contractor: CWCB, Various <br />Amount of Request: $10,000 <br /> <br />Ranking: <br /> <br />Low <br /> <br />Product Produced: This project would merge critical data developed by the agency to protect <br />Colorado's water resources and provide a handbook for on-going use. The information developed <br />would enable the agency to continue effective support of its water protection program in light of any <br />operational changes that may temporarily affect the agency at any given time. <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: CWCB's Water Protection Program is a strategic and integral <br />component of the agency's goal to protect Colorado's water resources. This handbook would ensure <br />that the data necessary to implement this program is in one place. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff gives a low recommendation to funding for this program due to other <br />pressing water issues at this time. <br /> <br />8. Base Flow Method Evaluation From Streams in the South Platte River Basin <br /> <br />Amount of Request: <br /> <br />CWCB, South Platte <br />Survey <br />$50,000 <br /> <br />River Basin Water Users, US Geological <br /> <br />Beneficiary/G ran tee/Contractor: <br /> <br />Ranking: High <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Product Produced: Study to evaluate a variety of methods that perform hydrograph recession analysis <br />and estimate base flow in order to enhance water administration and resource planning, u\\ing the South <br />Platte as the test basin. <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: Water users would be provided with the best methods to perform <br />the analysis and estimate base flow which would result in improved administration and management of <br />water resources. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff gives a high recommendation to funding for this study because of its high <br />application to water planning and protecting water resources. <br /> <br />9. FountainIMountain Creeks Transit Loss Study; Phase 2: Update <br /> <br />Beneficiary/Grantee/Contractor: SE Colorado Water Conservancy District, US Geological Survey <br />Amount of Request: $100,000 Ranking: High <br /> <br />Product Produced: A cooperative Transit Loss Study and Accounting Model will be extended <br />spatially and updated from an original model developed in the 1980's. This phase of the study will <br />focus on updating the portion of the Model that addresses the reach of Fountain Creek from Colorado <br />Springs to Pueblo. A separate but related phase, using non-reimbursable construction funds will extend .- <br />the Model upstream on Monument Creek to the northern border ofEI Paso County. . <br /> <br />Water Planning Relationship: Water users will have a better method of accounting and <br />administering transit losses and travel times when releasing imported and other reusable water into the <br /> <br />6 <br />
