<br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />574 <br /> <br />WHEREAS: he was appointed on May 18, 1953 a member <br />of the Colorado Water Conservation Board to succeed ex-Governor <br />Teller Ammons for the term ending May 12, 1956, and reappointed <br />May 12, 1956, for a term to end on this same date 1959, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: he took a leading part in negotiating the <br />settlement of the Denver-Blue River litigation, a problem <br />which for several years split the State in two quarreling <br />divisions, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: in his strenuous efforts to bring about this <br />agreement between the struggling parties, he suffered a serious <br />setback to his health. <br /> <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that in the passing of Harold <br />D. Roberts the Colorado Water Conservation Board lost a beloved <br />and wise counselor and the State of Colorado an able, efficient, <br />and amiable servant and an outstanding citizen. <br /> <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this <br />resolution be spread on the minutes of the Board and placed in <br />the hands of Mrs. Roberts and family, with the heartfelt <br />sympathy of the Board. <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD' <br /> <br />By: Ivan C. C. <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Chilson: <br /> <br />At its meeting held on November 19, 1956, your <br />resignation as attorney for the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board was regretfully accepted. <br /> <br />Only your personal request and the fact that you and <br />the entire State of Colorado have been signally honored by <br />your appointment to your present position could have persuaded <br />the Board to release you from our very pleasant association. <br />
