MOSES: <br /> <br />"Dean Crawford, do you have anything <br />else to bring before the Board?" <br /> <br />IVlR; CRAWFORD: <br /> <br />"I should like to call to the <br />attention of the Board the resolution con- <br />cerning the death of George Bailey which <br />reads as follows: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />'WHEREAS: On July 17, 1956, the Divine Providence <br />called George J. Bailey from his family circle and from his <br />many friends and associabes, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: He had been a member of the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board since its origin in 1937, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the confidence felt in him by his fellow <br />members resulted in his election as vice-chairman on August 14, <br />1947 and his re-election each year until his death to serve <br />in that capacity, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: he contributed greatly to the final <br />agreement between the States of Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico <br />and Utah which resulted in the Upper Colorado River Basin <br />Compact which made possible the development of the Upper <br />Basin's share of the water of the Colorado River, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: throughout all the years of his membership <br />on the Bqard he gave generously of his time and wisdom to the <br />affairs of the Board and by his even temper and good judgment, <br />guided it through many vexatious periods. <br /> <br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that in the passing of <br />George J. Bailey the State of Colorado lost a most conscientious <br />and able public servant and the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board mourns an outstanding leader. <br /> <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this <br />resolution be spread on the minutes of the Board and placed <br />in the hands of Mrs. Bailey, his wife, with the heartfelt <br />sympathy of the Board. <br /> <br />COlDRADO WATER CONSERVATION IDARD <br /> <br />By: Ivan C.
