M." <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened and called to order by the <br />Vice Chairman at 1:45 P. M. Governor-elect McNichols and Mr. <br />Williams were absent. Mr. J. B. Barnard, Jr., was present as <br />Mr. Dunbar's proxy. <br /> <br />IVlR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"We were ready before lunch to consider <br />the Resolution submitted by Mr. Miller. Mr. <br />Oliver would you care to say anything on this <br />point? Gentlemen, this is Mr. Floyd Oliver, <br />Senator-elect from Weld County and also past <br />president of the Colorado Well Drillers <br />Association. " <br /> <br />Senator Oliver gave a brief talk on Mr. Miller's Resolu- <br />tion and his reasons for being in favor of it. <br /> <br />MR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"vle <br />who look <br />matter. <br /> <br />have other gentlemen in the audience <br />as though they were interested in this <br />Could we hear from them." <br /> <br />Mr. Lawrence Frees, Buena Vista, member of the County <br />Planning Commission there, spoke on his approval of the Resolution. <br /> <br />MR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"Would anyone else like to speak on this <br />subject? Senator Rogers would you care to. say <br />anything concerning this?" <br /> <br />SENATOR ROGERS: <br /> <br />"I am very much interested in it. It <br />sounds like a good idea to me." <br /> <br />MR. STAPLETON: <br />MR. CRAWFORD: <br /> <br />"What engineering data do we have on this?" <br /> <br />"In regard to the pumping, we have nothing. <br />Perhaps Mr. Whitten can tell us more about that <br />than I can. We have no figures in our office <br />regarding actual pumping records." <br /> <br />MR. WHITTEN: <br /> <br />"Colorado A. & M. has some information on <br />it. They have carried on quite an extensive <br />study on it. There is also quite a bit of data <br />available through the Well Drillers Association." <br /> <br />IVlR. MOSES: <br /> <br />"Mr. Bell are you familiar enough with what <br />the ground-water branch of the U. S. Geological <br />Survey has done to give us a report on this?" <br /> <br />Mr. Bell gave a short statement regarding the United <br />States Geological Survey's standpoint on this question. <br />
