"Before I forget it - we people on
the Western Slope don't seem to know any-
thing about under-ground water but there
is one facet that perhaps you people on the
Eastern Slope may have overlooked and that
. is the water- uncovered 'or developed through
mining operations. What happens to that?'"

Mr. Moses gave his interpretation of the law governing
water of this ~ind which was concurred in by Mr. Whitten and
Mr. Barnard.

Mr. Miller then gave a talk on the situation in the
South Platte Basin.

"I move that the Resolution as presented

"Let me see if I understand this right.
We are now shooting for January 1958 to
have this study in the hands of th? Legislature."

"Yes."

"I should like to ask Senator Rogers if
he would like to say anything more on this
subject."

Senator Rogers made a brief statement regarding his
views on this study.

"I think we should all have in mind the
matter of policy. The Board has never come
out definitely for or against a particular
under-ground water Bill."

"Concerning the people in my part of
the State - we have, as you know, a very
sizeable pumping development in the San Luis
Valley. I think we probably know less about
our situation than any part of the:State but
I have been interested in noting the change
of position of many of my people. I, for
one, would be reluctant to indicate to the
