Other <br />than that I think it almost identical with <br />that which the Board has entered into be- <br />fore." <br /> <br />MR. PETERSON: <br /> <br />"That portion pertaining to the per diem <br />is a matter to be brought before the Board <br />and decided; therefore, it cannot be too ob- <br />tionable as we would have to negotiate further <br />and pass on it." <br /> <br />MR. DUNBAR: "That's true. The only difference is that <br />previously the compensation covered everything. <br />It has been changed now for time spent in actual <br />court cases and considered on a different basis." <br /> <br />MR. PETERSON: "As to how much - that will be decided <br />upon by the Board. That part will not be ob- <br />jectionable, I am sure, inasmuch as we do have <br />the right to negotiate the per diem." <br /> <br />MR. DUNBAR: "It doesn't amount to additionalcompensa- <br />tion but just expenses." <br /> <br />MR. CRAWFORD: "In the case of Mr. Chilson the additional <br />compensation amounted to $100.00 per day for <br />representation in court." <br /> <br />GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "It doesn't seem to me there is any great <br />impediment in the cont ract. As I stated pre- <br />viously, the contract would be approved by the <br />Board and if the attorney didn't accept its <br />terms there would be a vacancy. The attorney <br />will be elected subject to his approval to <br />such a contract." <br /> <br />MR. DUNBAR: '~ouldn't it be better to leave it this <br />way - that if the attorney selected does not <br />agree to the terms of this contract and had <br />his own ideas as to what this contract should <br />contain, the Board will negotiate with him <br />and see what can be worked out?" <br /> <br />GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "Yes. I think that would be part of it. <br />It would be a matter of negotiation between <br />the person selected and the Board. This <br />Board will want to give some attention to <br />this contract and see does the attorney agree <br />"to its terms.
