DUNBAR:

"Is it the opinion of the Board that
expenses to and from Denver should be men-
tioned in the contract?"

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "It is not mentioned in this:contract."

1

MR. DUNBAR: "It so happens that this contract, in
its original form, was made with Judge
Breitenstein and we made an identical con-
tract with Mr. Chilson with the exception
of the question of expenses."

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "How often does the Board meet and what
would the expenses amount to?"

MR. CRAWFORD:

"Six times a year or if there is urgent
business, it may be eight or ten times per
year. There was one year when we met eleven
times."

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "I understand this Board has been holding
meetings in various parts of the State which
are attended by the Board members. What
about counsel - does he attend them too and
who paid his expenses?"

MR. CRAWFORD: "In the past he has attended outstate
meetings with his expenses paid."

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "That was true with Mr. Chilson?"

MR. DUNBAR:

"In the event we need a consultation with
the attorney between Board meetings what
about his expenses in those cases?"

GOVERNOR JOHNSON: "What is the pleasure of the Board with
respect to this question. I think we might
just as well settle this now before we elect
a counsel."

fJIR. PETERSON:

"I have this feeling right now pertain-
ing to the expense of travel of counsel. I
am wondering if we couldn't compromise and
say that on regular Board meetings the coun-
sel would be paid his traveling expenses; if
he is called in between meetings to consult
with the Director or the Attorney General,
perhaps it would be well to come in at his
own expense."

1
