3

1 P.O. Box 3420, Durango, Colorado.

2

HEARING OFFICER SJAASTAD: Thank you. This is

3 an administrative hearing. The rules of evidence will be

4 relaxed. The order will be as follows: The Applicant will

5 present his case first. I note that there are no other

8 parties of record, so there will be no cross-examination of

1 the Applicant as such; however, questions for clarification

8 shall be allowed from anyone in the audience.

9 I propose to take these questions at the conclu-

10 sion of direct examination of each witness. I would reserve

11 the right to delay such questions until after the Applicant

12 has presented his entire case, if these questions should

13 become lengthy. And I'll caution that these questions are

14 questions for clarification, not in the nature of cross-

15 examina tion.

16 After the Applicant's case is completed, we will

17 reserve the right to recall any of his witnesses for further

18 questioning. Then, we'll take statements from persons not

19 parties to the case, and we'll take them in the order that

20 they may have signed up on this yellow sheet at the corner

21 of the table.
22 After we've gone through the list, we'll take

23 questions or comments or statements from anyone in the hearin

24 room. The statements may be either sworn or unsworn. We'll

2S take sworn testimony from the Applicant. Sworn statements
