Kansas.
Seeding for rain augmentation was attempted later in the lnorning on
cells around Kearny and Finney Counties. Two planes attempted aloud
base seeding but cloud bases quickly became very low and unsafe for
cloud base flying; one plane seeded briefly from 10:59 - 11:07 a.m.

The cloud top aircraft was launched slightly later than the others
and eventually identified cloud tops as being too low to warrant
further rain augmentation despite cloud tops growing into sub-freezing
altitudes. That flight was brief before landing back at Dodge City.

MAY 29th---OPERATIONS bAY #8: Northeasterly moving thunderstorms began
developing randomly over Western Kansas and the panhandlea of Oklahoma
and Texas around 4:00 - 4:30 a.m. Due to the initial organization of
1:he storms all thre..e cloud bas$ planes initially performed rain
augmentation seeding for effect in all target area counties e~cept
'iallaee, Greeley and Wichita. Seeding was performed it'ora 5: 16 a. m. to
0:11 ~.D. before f]IRht~ ended. AftQr reporting nn ln~lnntlnnR nf
seVere weather ouserved aloft, the cloud top plane patrolled briefly
before returning to Dodge City.

Two rain stimulation flights were scrambled later at 8:42 a.m. and
9:5~ ~,m, Seeding W~A performed for effeot in the northern t1~~ of
target area counties from Greeley eastward to Scott and, additionally,
for Gray and Ford counties.
