The project area (as IdentIfIed In the map submitted wIth the <br />appl1catlon for permit) 15 llm'ited to Gran.d ~'esa near State HIghway 65 In a. <br />fIve mile radIus on the north side of Island Lake In r~esa and Delta Counties. <br /> <br />3. SeedIng wIll be accomplIshed from 26-inch diameter balloons released <br />from stationary and mobile units spaced 4 miles apart. Between 10 and 15 <br />cases of 2 sets of 5 or 6 balloons will be released for a maxImum of IRO <br />barloons. Anticipated preclpit~tlon Increased moisture content from each <br />balloon Is .01". Total silver iodIde released durIng the project will be <br />less than 100 grams. <br /> <br />4. ApplIcant shall suspend seedIng operations if snow moisture content at <br />selected Soil Conservation ServIce (SCS) Snow Survey Unit SnO\1 courses or <br />SNOTEl sHes, identified by the Department of Natural Resources and the <br />ApplIcant, reaches 150% of average during January, 140% of average during <br />February and 135% of average during t,arch. SNOTfL site for thls project is <br />ParI< Reservoi r. <br /> <br />Averages for determInIng suspension will be calculated by averagIng <br />water content at the selected snow courses or SNOTEL sites. Snow depth at <br />National Weather Service (NWS) cooperatIve observer sItes also may be used <br />to make suspensIon decisIons. <br /> <br />5. ApplIcant shall suspend seedIng operations if: <br /> <br />a. Unusually heavy precIpitatIon that could contrIbute to avalanches <br />or severe weather conditIons in the project area occurs or is <br />forecast; <br />
