I I I I I Seeding was conducted from about 1030 - .2200 ~1ST on January 31 (#11), as a storm crossed Colorado. ~uch of the basin received about OS' of water equivalent. February 200~ ~1ost of February was dry in much of the Gunnison Basin. particularly the northern (Gunnison County) portion. However. a series of heavy storms moved through the southwestern U.S. in late February. and brought some very heavy snows to south\l.:estern Colorado. The San Juan Range was particularly hard-hit. with several inches of water equivalent bringing the snowpack to above average levels. This added to the snowpack in much of the southern Gunnison Basin. in the vicinity of the San Juan Range. but the northern portions of the basin missed out almost entirely. Five storms were seeded in February. A powerful storm system moved onshore in California on February 2. and into the Four Corners states on February 3. Light snow began falling in the Gunnison Basin on the evening of February 3. and snow fell overnight as the sternl center moved over Colorado. Snow continued through most of the ~lh. with northerly nO\v over the area due to the storm center being located over eastern Colorado. Seeding began on the evening of February 3. and ended on the evening of the ~lh (#12). SNOTEL data showed about 0.75" of water equivalent in much of the target area (north and south) from this storm event. A weakening storm system moved from Utah into Colorado on the night of February 7-8. and seeding was conducted overnight (#13). Snowfall was light. with only a couple inches of snow falling in most of the targel area. Water equivalent amounts were around 0.25" or less. A storm system quickly crossed Colorado early on February 19 (#l~). reaching the southern plains by midday. A moist northv.:esterly now behind this system resulted in convective snow showers over the Gunnison Basin by midday. Seeding was conducted from 13
