Hope this
helps.

Mark Heidt - City of Brighton

The Park & Recreation departments for Widefield School District #3 and the City of
Colorado Springs have posted signs in the parks asking people to stay off the fields.
These restrictions have taken place from October 2003 to April 1, 2004 in an attempt to
salvage the playing fields. Memorial Park in Colorado Springs has been worn down to
bare dirt. The start of the soccer season has been delayed and practices are limited to
one time per week. The number of soccer games scheduled has been reduced from
ten games down to eight.

Chuck Mayville, Widefield School District #3

Monthly Council Briefing, April, 2004 - Water Supply Update

Snowpack Conditions

. Warm temperatures and dry conditions have caused the snowpack in the Cache
la Poudre River basin to decline to about 50 percent of average as of Aprill.

. Based on this recent trend, the total runoff from the Poudre River could be
similar to the 2002 runoff of 100,000 acre-feet. This compares to the average of
about 300,000 acre-feet over the last 100 years or so. Spring precipitation can
vary considerably from year to year which can substantially alter actual runoff
conditions.

Water Supplv Conditions

. Projected treated water demands are 28,800 acre-feet this year. This assumes
that residents will continue to conserve water in 2004 resulting in approximately
10% less use as compared to demand levels prior to the current drought. For
planning purposes, it is assumed that demands could be as high as 32,000 acre-
feet.

. Supplies available for use during the 2004 water year include water carried over
from last year, water made available this year from the Colorado-Big Thompson
(CBT) system and new water supplies available from the City's water rights from
this year's Poudre River runoff.

5
