.

.

.

The upstream face of the dam is approximately a 2:1

slope with some over steepening of the upper five feet (5') of

the embankments due to erosion. When the reservoir is full,

excessive seepage has been noted below the toe of the West dam

which has produced a soft, boggy area below this dam.

For the past several years the deterioration of these

structures has been of concern to both the owner and the State

Engineer. The dams were inspected on May 9, 1984 by the State

Engineer I s Office and restricted to gage height 18.0 feet,

which is 6.0 feet below the maximum water decree. If not

repaired, increased restriction may be placed on the reservoir

resulting in additional loss of stored water to the irrigators.

It is estimated that for each year the dam is not repaired,
North Poudre will lose about 1,532 acre feet of water.
FEASIBILITY STUDY
A feasibility study has not been completed on this
facility. A feasibility study has been initiated, however, and
is in progress.

- 2 -
