Overview

This plan is a general plan of policy and action over the next several years. It does not
address specific actions, but rather general categories of actions. Specific actions are
detailed in Annual Action plans which will be developed by the Conservation Section
staff each year to achieve annual goals. Copies of these plans will be available as
soon as the annual budget has been approved by the Board, usually at the end of
December immediately preceding the new year.

This plan also does not address policies and actions concerning actual water
shortages. These are covered in Denver Water's Drought Response Plan. Copies of
the Drought Response Plan are available upon request.

The Conservation Master Plan was developed with the help of Denver Water's Citizens
Advisory Committee and its Conservation Task Force, the Conservation Team, and
peer review by other conservation professionals and Denver Water's Distributors, As
with all plans, it will need to be updated frequently, perhaps every five years, to include
new advances in technology, results of pilot projects and changes in demographics and
attitudes.

Suggestions from interested people are welcome. Mail typed or legibly printed ideas for
new general policies to be included in the next revision of the Conservation Master Plan
to:

Manager of Water Conservation
Denver Water
1600W.12thAvenue
Denver, CO 80254-0001

I - - -----

~ An Acre F~ot of ~:ter is 6~,000 minutes of
.....,.. lawn watsrmg WI... a hose,

An Acre Foot of water is about 326,000
gallons or 65,200 five-minute showers!

OJ

Iv
