<br />KEN-CARYL RANCH WATER AND SANITATION DISTRICT <br />JEFFERSON COUNTY, COLORADO <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE WATER CONSERVATION PLAN FOR THE KEN- <br />CARYL RANCH WATER AND SANITATION DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado legislature has adopted a water use <br />efficiency statute, at 937-60-126 of the Colorado Revised <br />Statutes which requires water utilities and water districts with <br />total customer demand of two thousand acre feet or more of water <br />per year to prepare, develop, adopt, and make publicly available, <br />a water use efficiency plan ("Water Conservation Plan"); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the statute requires that such Water Conservation <br />Plan encourage water customers to use water more efficiently; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District <br />is a "covered entity" under the water use efficiency statute at <br />937-60-126(1) (a) of the Colorado Revised Statutes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in conformity with the statute, the District <br />prepared a draft Water Conservation Plan which was presented at <br />an open public meeting of the Board of Directors of the District <br />on Thursday, May 21, 1998, at which meeting copies of the plan <br />were available for review by the general public and all <br />interested parties; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the draft Water Conservation Plan outlines the <br />District's existing water system, history, the community it <br />services, the public information program, the metering program, <br />leak repair and maintenance as well as additional proposed water <br />conservation measures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, notice of availability of the Water Conservation <br />_____-.Ll~nfor review gnd. corrn:nenJ;;-..by,_~be--.tru.l:1l.ic was_!;l.!.!bli.sbelLa.s.._______ . <br />required by law in The Jefferson Sentinel newspaper on Thursday, <br />June 11, 1998, which notice invited the general public to submit <br />written comments on the plan to the Manager of the District for a <br />period of sixty (60) days, up to and including Monday, August 10, <br />1998 and invited the public to appear at the regular meeting of <br />the Board on August 20, 1998, at which time the final draft of <br />the plan will be considered; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all public comments on the Water Conservation Plan <br />have been considered by the Board and, as appropriate, have been <br />incorporated into the plan. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />1 <br />
