7 . WATER RATE STRUCTURES DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE WATER USE
EFFICIENCY IN A FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE MANNER

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and Sanitation District is by contract
a Master Meter distributer for the Denver Board of Water
Commissioners.

The wholesale rate structure{s) established by our supplier of
treated water is based on their costs of collection and treatment
of raw water and the delivery of treated water to the
distributer.

Most of the water accounts in the District are metered and range
in size from 3/4 inch to 6 inch. Some of the Multi-Family
accounts are billed the 6,000 gallon monthly minimum that applies
to all accounts in the District. All accounts are billed bi7
monthly.

The rate structure used by the Ken-Caryl Ranch Water and
Sanitation District is designed to promote wise water use, and to
encourage conservation among water users. The District uses an
inclining block rate structure with three distinct blocks. There
is a 20 cent per one thousand gallon difference between each
block.

12
