Wastewater Treatment & Collection

The City of Sterling's wastewater collection system consists of over 62 miles of mains
and sixteen sanitary sewer lift stations. The current Wastewater Treatment Plant was
built in 1979 and modified in 1995. The plant can effectively treat an average flow of 4
million gallons per day to secondary treatment standards. Over the last couple years
the annual inflow has averaged approximately 1.8 million gallons a day.
