'-,

.

I RETROFIT: I

-

.

DO IT YOURSELF. . . AND SAVE

When we think of the word retrofit. we imagine replacing older parts or equipment.
These replacements. which were not available at the time of installation. can be more
innovative and efficient '.
When we retrofitwater-using devices. this innovation and water use efficiency trans-
lates to conservation and money saved. For example. the showerheads illustrated above
reduce now from an average ,of 4.5 gallons per minute to about 2.75 gallons per minute
and you still get a great shower!
The purpose of this brochure is to give you step by step assistance in retrofitting to
help save your water and your money!

I I Aerators mix .
Easy to Install Aerators and Spray Taps airwith /
faucet water
to reduce
water now. To install. unscrew old faucet attachment. You may have to use wide grip pli-
ers with protective masking tape around the faucet. Usually you can do this job by hand.
For inside threaded faucets. just screw on the water saving aerator. For outside threaded
faucets. first remove the top washer from aerator to expose the inside threads and then
screw on aerator. It you have an
unthreaded faucet. buy a uni.
versal faucet adaptor.
Spray taps screw on just
like aerators. They spray
water like a miniature
shower. and can be
moved to .directspray in
the basin.

.

This is not Intended as a guide-
line for aU faucet types cur..
rently available on the market.
It in doubt of relevancy 01
these instructions. cad your
local plumbing contractor tor
guidance.
