<br />Officals take oath, contract renew
<br />meter installation top Wiggins age'

<br />Four returning trustees, Faye
<br />Von Loh,Stan Baumgartner,
<br />Jacque Weimer, four year terms,
<br />and Richard Vance, two year term,
<br />, and Mayor Charles Ruyle took
<br />their oath of office. Town Attorney
<br />Eric Jorgenson administered the
<br />oath at the regular meeting
<br />Wednesday, April 13.
<br />Town AttOrney Jorgenson also
<br />asked about the renewal of his
<br />contract. He outlined the terms of '
<br />his Proposal stating it is the same as
<br />last years. His two year contract.
<br />stipulates a monthly retainer fee of
<br />$250 for five hours of service with
<br />any time above costing $90 per
<br />hour.' The contract can be
<br />, terminated at any time.
<br />Jorgenson has been Wiggins'
<br />counsel for the past len years. "It
<br />. has been a good working
<br />relationship and I'm happy to work
<br />with you," he said.
<br />The council approved the
<br />. renewal of his contract and were
<br />also positive about the working
<br />relationship they have.
<br />On the agenda was the water
<br />meter project. The meter project
<br />involves 165 reside'ntial meter
<br />installations with the intent 10 start
<br />January 1995 with melered billing.
<br />Town Manager John Holdren
<br />said the installation of water meters
<br />
<br />throughout the town will begin
<br />sometime in May.
<br />Holdren explored the possibility
<br />of using outside contractors to
<br />install the melers. The estimates he
<br />, received ranged from the lowest of
<br />$185 per meter 10 the highest being
<br />$250 per meter. Holdren said he

<br />proclaimed April 25-29, as
<br />Colorado Spring Severe Weather
<br />Awareness Week. The Governor's
<br />proclamation emphasizes the need
<br />for Colorado to be prepared for
<br />emergencies and disasters.
<br />Additionally, the Morgan
<br />County Board of Commissioners
<br />has issued a resolution in support
<br />of Awareness Week and the
<br />supporting educational activities
<br />within the county.

<br />Cochrane was discussed further.
<br />Several trusrees thought he needed
<br />10 be more accountable 10 the town
<br />and wanted reports regularly eilher
<br />oral or written.
<br />After a discussion on the
<br />merits of economic development
<br />including ethics, confidentiality
<br />and positive outlook, the council
<br />agreed to continue Cochrane &
<br />Associates contract until the first of
<br />the year. They will then r~.
<br />eyaluate the contract and

<br />park. The spring and 'fall treatment"
<br />will cost the IOwn $987.
