<br />.. <br /> <br />v <br /> <br />EXHIBIT A <br /> <br />1. Scope of Semces <br /> <br />The Project consists of the Contractor developing a demonstration xeriscape garden. The garden will feature a handicapped <br />accessible path, a dry stream bed, a rock garden with native moss rock, and native prairie flora. A large section of the garden <br />will be reserved for plants dependent upon natural rainfall only. The Project goals include: increasing customer awareness of <br />the effects of a water efficient garden. extending the useful life of the Contractor's water system, and to collecting data for <br />evaluation of future programs. <br /> <br />The Contractor will recruit volunteer workers from the local civic groups and citizens. The volunteers will be the major source <br />of coordination and construction of the garden. The garden will educate visitors on plant selection, design, mulching methods <br />and soil improvement of xeriscape gardening. Identification tags will be used to label plants in the garden and the landscape <br />design will be on display. <br /> <br />The Project will produce articles aoout the garden to local newspapers. FIyers will be developed and distributed to Home <br />Demonstration Cluhs. <br /> <br />Following the water use assessments, the Contractor will monitor water consumption from the water meter readings and rain <br />gauge readings and evaluate them. <br /> <br />A Final Report shall be compiled upon completion of the Project. The Final Report shall include a summary of the Project, <br />discussion of the Project implementation. Project findings and water savings results. The Final Report will not only conclude the <br />Project but will serve as information to be shared with other Colorado communities. <br /> <br />2. Protect Time of Perfonnance <br /> <br />The Project will commence on July 15, 1993 or upon full and proper execution of this Contract. <br /> <br />The Project will be completed on or before June 30, 1995. However, the Project time of performance may be extended subject <br />to the mutual agreement of the State and Contractor. A written request for extension shall be submitted to the State by the <br />Contractor at least thirty (30) days prior to June 30, 1995, and shall include a full justification for the extension request. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 Pages <br />
