<br />H. Regulatory measures, including standards for the use otwater-use <br />efficiency fixtures and landscapes, and ordinances, codes or other law <br />designed to encourage water use efficiency: <br /> <br />The City of Pueblo's building/plumbing codes conform to the standards of the <br />Environmental Protection Agency Act of 1992. The maximum discharge flow rates <br />of all plumbing fixtures installed in the City of Pueblo must operate in accordance <br />to these standards. <br /> <br />* Water closets, (toilets) shall have an average consumption of not more than <br />1.6 gallons (6.1 liters) of water per flush. <br />* Urinals shall have an average water consumption of not more than 1.0 gallon <br />(3.8 liters) of water per flush, with the exception of blowout urinals which may <br />be installed for public use in stadiums, race courses, fairgrounds, and other <br />structures used for outdoor assembly. <br />* Showerheads shall be designed and manufactured so they will not exceed a <br />water supply flow rate of 2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per minute. Exception- <br />Emergency safety showerheads may exceed this rate. <br />* Non-metered faucets (lavatory faucets) shall be equipped with aerators and <br />shall be designed and manufactured so they will not exceed a water flow rate of <br />2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per minute. <br />* Metered faucets (self-closing or self-closing metering faucets) shall be <br />installed in lavatories intended to serve the transient public. such as those in <br />service stations, train stations, airports, restaurants and convention halls. <br />Metered faucets shall deliver not more than 0.25 gallons (1.0 liter) of water per <br />use. <br />* Kitchen faucets for kitchen sinks shall be equipped with aerators and shall be <br />designed and manufactured so they will not exceed a water supply flow rate of <br />2.5 gallons (9.5 liters) per minute. <br /> <br />1. Incentives to implement water use efficiency techniques, including <br />rebates to customers or others to encourage the installation of water use <br />efficiency measures: <br /> <br />The Board of Water Works of Pueblo has decided not to offer any type of rebate to <br />its customers at this time. The cost savings vs. a major change in efficient water <br />use is not nearly as favorable as those measures selected for immediate <br />implementation. <br /> <br />-11- <br />
