Town of Castle Rock
Water Conservation Plan

4. Water reuse systems

. Monitor other water supplier's reuse activities for potable and non-potable
use to identify whether such efforts could offer direction to the Town. This
would include Denver's reuse studies, its Successive Use Project, as well as
other studies that become available.

5. Distribution Leak Repair

. Develop a method for accomplishing home water conservation audits and leak
detection. Devise a questionnaire that could be sent out with a newsletter, or
at a homeowner's request, that would help them identify potential problem
areas for water loss.

. Continue on-going distribution leak detection and repair

6. Dissemination of information

. Water efficient landscaping seminars addressing spring and fall landscaping
needs.

. Consider Town promotion of sales of water conserving devices through
cooperative efforts with local hardware stores by offering coupons for water
conserving devices, such as shower heads.

. Review Town sales of water conserving devices

. Promote vendors that carry water conserving devices

. Continue distribution of water newsletter to all customers at least twice per
year

. Continue to give away water conservation kits on an intermittent basis, and
consider a Town-wide give away again

. Promote school and service group presentations

. Look into cooperative efforts with schools and organizations for essay and art
contests on water related issues.

31
