. .

.

SEPTEMBER 1992

The annual SILT PIG ROAST is now officially scheduled for Saturday September 12th, so mark it
on your calendar and plan to attend! Five roasted pigs, music, and entertainment make this event a
yearly favorite. All proceeds from the event go to the Silt Volunteer Ambulance, a non-profit
ommunity service which gives Silt excellent 24 hour emergency medical care.
The festivities will begin at 12:00 Noon in Veterans Park, and will officially end at 5:00p.m. The
cos\ is $6,50 for adults, $3.50 for those over age 65, and $2.00 for children under ten. This year,
there will be pig t-shirts and balloons for sale too.
Also, pot~luck desserts are needed. Just bring your dessert to the roast and put it on the dessert
table.
If you do not have an ambulance subscription, September 12th would be an excellent time to get
one, A renewable subscription costs $30 for an individual and $35 for a family, and allows. the
. subscriber free ambulance service for one year. If you buy a subscription at the ROAST, you or one
member of your family eats for free, so come on Down!!!!

"SILT CAN SAVE" WATER CONSERVATION PROJECT NEEDS YOU!!.

The water conservation project officially began during the month of August, and initial turnout for
the free kits has been good, but not as high as we need.
This month, City Hall and the community would like to urge you to come in and get your free
conservation kit as soon as possible. Many of you have not make it in yet, and we need everyone to
participate.
If you are unable to come in during normal hours, please call us and we will be happy to leave one
at your home, If you know your neighbors need one, come in and get one for them.
When you do come in to get a kit, please let us know the address of the house you are converting,
we can insure everyone gets at least one kit. ,
The kits are state-of-the-art water conservation devices. They take about 15 to 20 minutes to
install, and are ABSOLUTELY FREE TO YOU, thanks to the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
Any questions or comments can be answered by calling City Hall at 876-2353,
