. '

Make sure all staff members fully understand their role In the project
and that you have a reasonable expectation of the time Involved and
training needs If applicable.

Staff members affected by project are Billie L. Scott, Environmental
Resources Technician, in charge of administering the program; Shawn
Maloney, Utility Clerk, as assistance and support capacity; Line
Maintenance and Meter Reading Personnel in limited fashion for acquisition
of various data and back up.

V. PUBLICITY/PROMOTION

Plan to meet with the local newspaper and other VIPs early to gain
promotional support and awareness.

Preliminary conferences have already been accomplished, and further
promotional efforts are planned.

Identify who will be the project spokesperson If the media calls. Also
determine who will distribute any news releases and promotional
material and how.

Billie Scott is the spokesperson for the project, and will contact the local
press representative to the Town for news releases. Promotional materials
will also be distributed at local sponsorships, and through local activities
and organizations. In all material distributed in associated with this project,
the Town will emphasize the role of the Office of Water Conservation, and
the grant source funding they have made available.

VI. EVALUATION AND FINAL REPORT

In addition to evaluating water use from billing records, consider using
follow-up surveys to users, participants or other audiences for data
collection.

A follow-up survey will be composed and distributed through Water
Newsletter #4, to investigate the general effect of the program on the
residents.

The Town has other short term goals for 1992, including participation in the
Founders Village Xeriscape Contest, two Xeriscape seminars in the fall and
spring, a Water Saver Publication List of water saving heros, water
conservation fliers in merchant bags throughout the Town, and a proactive
school education program. All of these will be avenues for promotion of the
''Teach By Example" project.
