2.

FIXTURES
The number and type of fixtures that are located in these buildings are listed in table 2.
The Capitol building has a combination of flush valve type toilets and older tank type
toilets, with the flush-valve type toilets being located in the public restrooms. The State
Office Building was remodeled in 1985, and is equipped with flush valve type toilets.

TABLE 2

Toilets Urinals Lav. The Senate and House are nonnally
in session for 120 days per year. About 140 people are employed full time in the State
Capitol Building. Many people also visit this building, for tours and for business. The State
Office Building houses the Department of Education, where there are 240 full time
employees.

Nonnal business hours for these facilities are 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
In addition to the regular employees, many visitors do business here. The public restrooms
at the State Capitol Building also get a substantial amount of walk-in usage. There are
security personnel that watch the facility during the rest of the day and on weekends.

WATER BALANCE

Water uses in these facilities can be divided into four major groups, domestic, cooling,
cafeteria, and landscaping.

Domestic Use - Domestic use is largely restroom usage. In the Capitol Building, there are
public restrooms located on the lower level and private restrooms located on all floors.
Toilets located on the lower level are flush-valve type and are estimated to use 4.5 gallons
per flush. The older tank-type models, located in the other restrooms, are estimated to use
approximately 5 to 7 gallons per flush.
