<br />The maximum-day demand supplied by the City occurred in July of 1994 at 5.8 million gallons <br />per day (MOD). Dividing this by the 2,967 taps served by the City derives an average demand <br />on the maximum-day of 1,955 gallons per day. Dividing the maximum-day demand by the <br />population derives an average maximum-day demand of 687 gallons per person per day. If the <br />large users such as the industries and large commercial taps are subtracted from the total, the <br />maximum-day demand is estimated to be 4.9 MOD. The average usage per tap is then 1,692 <br />gallons per day per tap, and the maximum-day per capita consumption is 581 gallons. The 1,692 <br />gallons per day demand is equal to an average flow rate of 1. 17 gal/min per tap. This figure is <br />typical of all systems we have investigated and has been used in the projection of the demands <br />for the future taps. <br /> <br />The average-day was 834 gallons per day per tap.
